West African Resources - Tanlouka, Burkina Faso - Oct 2016

Andrew Jackson visited West African Resources' Tanlouka operation in Burkina Faso on October 5, 2016.  Tanlouka is 85 miles E of the capital, Ouagadougou, and is easily accessed by good, mostly-paved roads.

Tanlouka is a Birimian age shear zone-hosted gold deposit, or rather, a group of deposits.  The current Measured & Indicated resource is 9.79 Mt @ 2.169 g/t Au for 672 Koz, with about the same in Inferred category.  Much of this is in the low-grade Mankarga 5 deposit (M5 - dominantly oxide material) but the discovery of the small but very high grade Mankarga 1 South (M1 South) deposit has elevated the quality of the project considerably.
