Kalahari Copper - Matchless belt, Central Namibia - May 2015

Andrew Jackson visited Kalahari Copper's Matchless Belt properties in central Namibia on May 25-26, 2015.  Kalahari Copper is a newly-launched private company, sharing much of its management with Copperzone, in Zambia.  Kalahari Copper follows the prospect generator model, focusing on Namibia and Botswana.

The Matchless Belt is a narrow horizon of amphibolites, sandwiched between the otherwise geologically monotonous metasedimentary schists of the Khomas Subgroup (part of the Damara Supergroup).  It is named after the Besshi-type VMS Matchless copper mine, which it hosts.  Seventeen other copper deposits have been found associated with the 400km long belt, including the Otjihase copper mine.

Kalahari Copper is still awaiting approvals for the licenses it has applied for.  In addition to the Matchless Belt applications, it has applications in for seven licenses in the north of Namibia, in the Kunene and Outjo areas.
